How to write a meta-analysis
The secret of creating a perfect meta-analysis paper is a topic finding, where the body of the text exists. It may or may not be explored before – in the course work, you will have to alternate between the already discovered meanings and the new, qualitative approach.
You may also use the previous findings for a steady contrast and provide exposure that is unclear, yet suggests different explanations to the already known concepts. Working this way, you will accomplish a number of results that are related to the biases, stereotypes and theories that have been surrounding the prior research. Moreover, you will guarantee an unpredictable approach to the target audience, which means newer concepts will be explored.
In the world of the literary reviews meta-analysis allows us to receive a complete and full transformation from a simple recommendation to the concept guidance and literature studies. Meta-analysis can be called a standard approach, but we assume it exposes more than a single trait to the topic, that has been reviewed before.
Meta-analysis. Purpose
For a meta-analysis, you are allowed to choose a controversial, argumentative topic. Such topics are often regarded by teachers as promising, for they provide you with sufficient information and yet leave something to the imagination.
If the analysis has been conducted according to the rules and requirements of the academia, the results are significant. The readers will be able to see the difference between a common dilemma and few smaller issues, that have been misinterpreted due to the lack of time.
There are key areas of meta-analysis that have to be taken into account while writing. They are:
- Development of the question. Study questions are important, as they allow you to be the part of the research and yet generate your own ideas. By developing the question, you give way to further studies and encourage other researchers to experiment with the topic.
- Evaluation of the result. As we have already said, there are many issues that remain undiscovered in the modern science. If you take a problem and view it from a different angle, the results may be unpredictable. That is why the evaluation section exists: you assess the work, yet rely on your own intuition when it comes to conclusions.
- Proper use of methods. Information you gather on a daily basis may later be used for the meta-analysis work. It is important to differentiate between the method and the structure and analyze the sources according to their reliability. There is no actual way to include the use of methods without being specific, and that is why this section exists.
- Applicability of results. After you finish writing a meta-analysis report, it’s time to think about the applicability of results. You should develop the topic so that it presents interest to the other researchers and think about the data that was used in the process. The liability of sources is another key element of a meta-analysis presentation, and you can hardly forget about the concept.
Meta-analysis. Summarizing
Meta-analysis can be a strong method if you wish to analyze the situations that were underestimated by the previous studies. While conducting this type of research, you inevitably give way to the underpowered association and studies, that have not been approached with due respect.
By demonstrating the ability to analyze, we show the statistic association that can be later used in literary analysis. The texts, that have been researched, are subject to the association, therefore present a unique community and should be separated into sections. By performing successfully, you will be able to structure the data in a clear and concise manner and avoid all the common pitfalls of a typical meta-analysis paper.
